Addison Farms Vineyard

Addison Farms Vineyard is a family-owned winery on 55 acres in Leicester, North Carolina, about 17 miles northwest of Asheville. The property has been in the family for four generations, since Addison Farmer and his parents bought it in 1937. The Frisbee family started the vineyard in 2009 to preserve the farm for future generations; it now spans roughly six acres at elevations between 2,250 and 2,300 feet, planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Sangiovese, Petit Verdot, and Petit Manseng. The winery produces 600 to 800 cases annually from estate-grown fruit and partner growers. After a first crush in 2010 and the first wine from their own vineyard in 2011, the tasting room opened in December 2012. Visitors can join a guided tasting of current releases or reserve a behind-the-scenes tour with owner and winemaker Jeff Frisbee, which includes the guided tasting and a walk through the working vineyard and winery.
