Adega Northwest

Adega Northwest is a Portland, Oregon winery founded in 2014 by winemaker Bradford Cowin and his mother, Tana Mendes Bidwell. The name, Portuguese for "wine cellar," honors Cowin's grandfather and the family's Portuguese ancestry. Today the winery is owned by Cowin and business partner Darren Harris. The winery produces wines inspired by the wines of Europe, particularly Bordeaux and the Rhone. Cowin's aim is an elegant style with silky tannins, soft fruit, and texture rather than heavy extraction. The portfolio includes Alvarinho, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Syrah, Grenache, Mataro, Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Souzao, and Graciano, with grapes sourced from vineyards across Washington State and Oregon. The Clube da Adega wine club offers members first access to limited releases and quarterly complimentary tasting flights at the winery; tours are by appointment.
