Antica Terra

Antica Terra is a small Oregon producer based in Amity, focused on pinot noir and chardonnay. Its estate vineyard sits on prehistoric ocean floor, and the winery also sources fruit from growers including Hope Well Vineyard. The team farms for low yields and makes both varieties in small lots: pinot noir is hand-sorted into open-top fermenters and fermented with ambient yeast, while chardonnay is pressed without moving the must and aged in barrel. The portfolio includes named bottlings such as Antikythera pinot noir and the chardonnays Aurata, Aequorin, Litera and Nuntius. The winery is best known for its highly selective rosé program. Rather than farming dedicated rosé blocks, the team ferments all pinot noir as red wine, then pulls individual fermenters into barrel when their aromatics during fermentation suggest they are destined for rosé. This yields tiny quantities, such as the single-barrel Bion Rosé and the 41-case Angelicall. Antica Terra offers its wines through membership; the Reserve tier includes a complimentary annual tasting at the Amity winery and access to limited library releases and large formats.
