Appassionata Estate

Appassionata Estate, located in Oregon's Willamette Valley within the Chehalem Mountains AVA, was founded by German winemaker Ernst Loosen as a passion project nearly three decades ago. Inspired by his lifelong love for Pinot Noir, Loosen began exploring the region and eventually established Appassionata Vineyards on 40 acres of land in 2005. The estate's philosophy emphasizes unhurried winemaking and extended cellar aging – up to 10 years – allowing their wines to unfold at their own pace. This approach is reflected in their flagship Pinot Noir, the Appassionata Pinot Sonata, which features three distinct expressions inspired by Beethoven's "Appassionata" Piano Sonata. The estate's commitment to sustainability is also evident through practices such as recycling corks and promoting environmentally friendly choices among visitors. Visitors can walk-in daily between 10am and 5pm or join the winery for special events like the Willamette Valley Chamber Music Festival, where tickets are available for purchase online.
