Arizona Hops and Vines

Arizona Hops and Vines is a women-owned winery in Sonoita, Arizona, run by sisters Megan Stranik and Shannon Austin. What began as a family idea that others dismissed as impossible grew into an award-winning winery built around wine, family, community, and an intentionally lighthearted approach. Megan serves as co-owner and winemaker, having learned the trade from the ground up. She started as a volunteer at Sonoita Vineyards, then spent years working at wineries across the area, doing everything from planting and weeding to lab work, bottling, filtration, and tasting room operations. Shannon leads marketing, sales, and events after moving from Washington, D.C. with her children to help make the winery a reality. Together they created the kind of place they wanted to visit: serious about wine without taking itself too seriously. The winery hosts weddings, birthdays, showers, reunions, and other celebrations, and runs a wine club. Visitors often find Megan outside among the vines, happy to talk about the farm and the wine.
