Balboa Winery

Balboa Winery is located in the Walla Walla Valley, a region known for its exceptional quality wines. The winery's philosophy focuses on creating wines that are true to their terroir, varietal, and vintage, with a sense of time and place. Their winemaking process begins in the vineyard, where sustainable growing practices and exacting hand labor ensure healthy and balanced vines. Grapes are hand-picked and hand-sorted before being crushed and fermented separately for each vineyard block to preserve unique characteristics. Wines are fermented in small open-top stainless steel fermenters with manual punch-downs twice a day, followed by secondary fermentation in French oak barrels. The winery's team, led by Director of Winemaking Tom Glase and Winemaker Tyler Grennan, work closely together to craft exceptional wines that showcase the region's terroir. The winery offers a range of red and white wines, including Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Grenache, Malbec, Merlot, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese, Syrah, Tempranillo, as well as whites such as Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Sauvignon blanc, Viognier, and Grüner Veltliner. Their tasting experience allows customers to appreciate the dedication that goes into creating these wines, with a focus on showcasing the unique characteristics of each varietal and vintage. The winery's estate-grown wines account for 60% of their production, with 85% being red wines and 15% white wines.
