Bateaux Cellars

Bateau Winery is a boutique winery located in Toledo, Washington, near the Cowlitz River in Lewis County. The winery was founded in 2009 by Steve and Cheryl Padula, who have since transitioned into retirement, with their children Lauren and Angelo Neroni taking over as owners and guides. Bateau's mission is to produce exceptional Washington wines that are approachable, affordable, and fun. They source all of their grapes from the Yakima AVA in central Washington, specifically from Airfield Farms' 1,000-acre vineyard near Sunnyside and Grandview. The winery produces a range of French-style blends and single varietal wines, including Cabernet Sauvignon and Voyageur. Bateau's tasting room is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, offering a welcoming environment with outdoor space featuring a patio, fire pit, and games such as bocce and horseshoes. The winery also offers short-term rental cabins, known as Smokey Valley Cabins, which are currently under construction and expected to be completed in 2026. Bateau's owners prioritize creating an inclusive atmosphere, with signs welcoming everyone and promoting human rights on the property.
