Belhurst Castle

Belhurst Estate Winery is a historic resort located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region, specifically within the Seneca Lake AVA. The winery's property was originally home to a Seneca Indian village and later became part of the state of Massachusetts before being purchased by various land developers throughout the 18th century. In 1824, William DeLong acquired the largest portion of the land, which is now occupied by Belhurst Castle, and sold it to Joseph Fellows, an English lawyer who built the "Hermitage" residence in 1836. The winery's tasting room offers samples of their wines, as well as Mabel's craft beer and hard cider, and visitors can also enjoy dining at one of the two on-site restaurants or relax with a cocktail. The resort features three unique hotels, offering modern guestrooms, historic Castle rooms, and private cottages, as well as a luxurious spa-salon, Isabella Spa-Salon, which provides massages, facials, body treatments, hair services, and more. Belhurst has been recognized for its romantic atmosphere, earning it a spot on the National Register of Historic Properties and being named one of the Most Romantic Places in New York State by USA TODAY.
