Berryessa Gap Vineyards

Berryessa Gap Vineyards is a family-owned winery rooted in Yolo County's farming heritage, with roots dating back to Spanish and German immigrant ancestors. The winery's connection to the land was established by Dan Martinez Sr., who partnered with Ernest Peninou in 1969 to develop a grapevine rootstock nursery business supplying renowned Napa and Sonoma Valley vineyards. In 2000, Dan Martinez Jr. and Santiago Moreno purchased the Coble Ranch, planting it to vineyards and establishing Berryessa Gap's estate vineyard. The winery produces a range of wines, including Petite Sirah, Tempranillo, Zinfandel, Barbera, Malbec, Albariño, Verdejo, and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as unique red blends in their Legends Collection. Tastings are available at the winery's production facility on Highway 128, which anchors the eastern gateway to Napa Valley, or in historic Downtown Winters at their tasting room on Main Street, offering a casual daytime setting and an elegant evening environment with live music and Spanish tapas. The site of Berryessa Gap Vineyards commands a picturesque view overlooking Berryessa Gap, surrounded by rolling vineyards planted with rootstock grown exclusively by Martinez Orchards.
