Black Dog Vineyard & Winery Tasting Room

Black Dog Vineyard & Winery is a handcrafted Oregon winery based in Carlton, OR, with production facilities located in Manzanita on the Oregon Coast. Founded by a former Air Force pilot and engineer, the winery was initially established under the Bodhichitta name in 2008, producing small batches of wine (10-100 cases) in Salem, Oregon. The winemaker's passion for Pinot noir led them to establish Black Dog Vineyard, which sources organic grapes from its own estate vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA and other regions, including Southern Oregon's Applegate Valley, the Columbia Gorge, Washington State's Red Mountain, and Horse Heaven Hills. The winery is certified USDA organic and produces a range of wines, including Pinot noir-based offerings, as well as Big Reds such as Barbera, Sangiovese, Grenache, Syrah, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot, and Zinfandel. The Carlton tasting room, established in Summer 2021, offers four unique wine experiences by reservation and features a courtyard with Adirondack chairs and fire pits, as well as a roof deck with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
