The trio's shared vision of creating unique wines led them to join forces after meeting at a California wine tasting. Their signature white wine, "Kismet," reflects their journey and showcases the distinct characteristics of the Cowichan Valley's maritime climate. Blue Grouse is committed to sustainable practices, including composting vineyard waste, using recycled Eco Glass bottles, and maintaining over 30 beehives with Lenora Bees to support local pollination efforts. The winery's property also features a 10-acre nature reserve along Patrolas Creek, providing habitat for diverse wildlife. Blue Grouse produces a range of wines under its Estate and Quill labels, with the Estate wines crafted from estate-grown, transitional-organic vineyards and the Quill label featuring wines made from both estate and partner-grown grapes.
