Bluegrass Vineyard

Bluegrass Vineyard is a woman-owned winery in Smiths Grove, Kentucky, run by owner and winemaker Jessica Rogers. Rogers began making small batches of wine in 2009, took courses through UC Davis, and learned largely by trial and error before opening the business from her basement in 2017. The winery moved to its current location in 2019 and added a production building in 2021. It now produces more than 30 wines on site, drawing most of its fruit from farms within 30 minutes of the vineyard. The lineup ranges from sweet to dry and includes traditional, fruit, dessert, and specialty wines such as bourbon barrel-aged and spice- or pepper-infused bottlings. The tasting room sits among rolling hills between Mammoth Cave, Bowling Green, and Glasgow, just off I-65. Visitors can order flights of six one-ounce samples, wine by the glass or bottle, and cheese trays or snack boxes. The winery is family and pet friendly, with a free barrel arcade for children and leashed dogs welcome indoors and out. An adjacent Tuscan-inspired bed and breakfast offers overnight stays, and the winery and inn are powered by 38 on-site solar panels.
