Bodegas Callia

Bodegas Callia is a winery located in the Tulum Valley of San Juan, Argentina, established in 2002 by Mijndert Pon. The estate has become a key producer in the region, crafting high-quality wines with a signature fruit-friendly, youthful, and dynamic style. This approach is achieved through minimal intervention winemaking techniques, resulting in naturally vibrant and fruit-forward wines that are vegan-friendly. Callia's commitment to sustainability is evident in its efforts to convert vineyards to organic agriculture, monitor water-use and carbon footprint, and implement recycling programs. The estate cultivates 283 hectares of vineyards, taking advantage of the region's arid yet fertile desert climate to produce intensely flavorful grapes. With a focus on protecting the land from which they are born, Callia's team aims to safeguard their beautiful desert valley for future generations while creating wines that inspire wine lovers to reconnect with themselves and others. The winery is part of the Salentein Family of Wines, founded by Mijndert Pon after he fell in love with Argentina during a visit in the 1990s. His children continue to run the business alongside vineyard manager Gustavo Matocq and head winemaker Gustavo Daroni.
