Boeger Winery & Farmworks is a family-owned winery located in the El Dorado American Viticultural Area of California. Founded in 1972 by Greg and Sue Boeger, it was the first commercial winery to be established in the county post-Prohibition. The winery's story spans five generations of Californian winemaking and farming, with Greg Boeger drawing on his family's legacy in the industry, including his grandfather Anton Nichelini's founding of the Nichelini Winery in Napa in 1890. Boeger is known for experimenting with lesser-known varietals such as Barbera, Refosco, and Aglianico, with Barbera emerging as a standout success and garnering hundreds of awards under the winery label.
