Brecon Estate

Brecon Estate is a boutique winery situated in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles AVA on California's Central Coast. The estate, owned by Damian Grindley and Simon Hackett, spans 40 acres with 26 acres dedicated to grapevines. The property features a mix of old and new plantings, including some of the first Bordeaux-varietal plantings in the Adelaida District, which have been dry farmed for decades. These original vines produce Old Vine Cabernet Sauvignon, while newer sections are planted with Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Tannat. The winery's philosophy is centered around sustainability and conservation, with a quarter of the property set aside for long-term preservation and featuring majestic 300+ year old oaks. Damian Grindley, a master winemaker with over two decades of experience, crafts small batch ferments that are sold exclusively through the estate. The team's approach to winemaking is guided by their mantra "leave nothing but footprints, take nothing but photographs," reflecting their passion for exploration and conservation.
