Broken Earth Winery is a Paso Robles-based winery committed to producing high-quality wines that showcase the region's unique terroir. Established in 1973 as Continental Vineyards by visionary Herman Schwartz, the vineyard has been at the forefront of sustainable farming practices since its inception. The current owners, who acquired the property in 2006, continue to prioritize eco-friendly methods, implementing technologically advanced techniques to cultivate premium wine grapes on their 712-acre estate. Broken Earth's wines are crafted with minimal intervention to reflect the distinct characteristics of Paso Robles' soil and climate, resulting in bold representations of the region. The winery's signature varietals include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay, among others. Located on the Estrella Bench, approximately 13 miles east of downtown Paso Robles, Broken Earth Winery offers a unique tasting experience that allows visitors to explore the vineyard and learn about its rich history and commitment to sustainability.
