Cantina Del Vesuvio

Cantina del Vesuvio is a family-owned winery located on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius in Italy's Campania region, within the Vesuvio Lacryma Christi DOC appellation. The winery has been producing wine since 1930 and is known for its organic wines made from indigenous Piedirosso and Caprettone grapes. Their flagship wine, Vesuvio Lacryma Christi DOC, is a historic wine born from the unique volcanic terroir of Mt. Vesuvius. Visitors can tour the 16-hectare vineyard and meet Maurizio Russo, the youngest member of the family of winemakers. The winery offers wine tastings, cooking classes, and has a wine shop where visitors can purchase their products exclusively. Cantina del Vesuvio is situated in the village of Trecase, near Pompeii, and offers a free shuttle service from Pompeii Porta Marina and Torre Annunziata for those unable to arrive by car. The winery's location makes it an ideal stopping point between visiting Pompeii and climbing Mt. Vesuvius.
