Cassaro Vineyards & Winery blends Texas winegrowing with Italian tradition, offering a Tuscan-style tasting experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Founded in 2015 by John and his family, the winery began with ten vines and now grows about 2,000 vines across three acres in Ovilla, Texas, in Ellis County. The vineyard is fully irrigated and trained on a single trellis system, with Sangiovese, Tempranillo, and Albarino among its wine grapes, plus table grapes for family snacking and Champanel grapes used for jellies. The boutique winery specializes in Italian varietals such as Sangiovese, Dolcetto, Montepulciano, Trebbiano, and Primitivo, and also works with Spanish and French grapes including Tempranillo and Merlot. Its red blends Gioia and Texano Superiore have won gold in competitions, contributing to more than 100 international medals. Located roughly 25 minutes south of downtown Dallas near I-35 and FM 664, Cassaro offers tastings, wine by the glass or bottle, and charcuterie boards. The 2.5-acre property includes a tasting room and a new event space across the street for weddings, private parties, and gatherings; it also hosts events like wine pairings and True Crime & Wine.
