Chankaska Creek Ranch, Winery & Distillery sits in the Minnesota River Valley just minutes from Mankato, in Kasota, Minnesota. The business was formed on June 19, 2008, with the goal of producing fine wines and creating a distinctive ranch experience. Vineyard planting began that same year, and the 11,000-square-foot winery and tasting room opened in May 2012 after construction began in fall 2010. The building blends repurposed aged woods with metal and ironwork, and the original 1864 farmhouse on the property was restored rather than demolished. The winery produces wines such as Itasca, Apple Wine, Reserve Cabernet, and Coeur de Colline, and also distills whiskey, gin, vodka, rum, bourbon, and brandy in its Spirits Room. Visitors can taste in the main tasting room or on the deck and patio, with reservations available for fireside tables, the Spirit Bar, and outdoor picnic tables. The property hosts the unWINEd live music series, maintains a Sculpture Stroll, and offers multiple indoor and outdoor event spaces.
