Founded by Steve Chapin, a native of Southern California, the winery began as a small operation with an initial planting of 5 acres in 2002, featuring varietals such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petite Verdot. Over time, the vineyard expanded to include additional varietals like Viognier, Aglianico, and Montepulciano, with a focus on estate-grown grapes. Today, Chapin Family Vineyards produces around 15 different wines, all hand-crafted in small batches. The winery's tasting room offers table-side service on its beautiful veranda, providing stunning views of the vineyards and rolling mountains.
