Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards is a family-owned estate winery and stables located in the Saratoga foothills of California's Santa Clara Valley, just minutes from Silicon Valley. The property has been in the Garrod family since 1893, when Sophia and David Garrod immigrated from England and purchased 66 acres from the Mount Eden Orchard and Vineyard Company. Initially, the farm produced dried prunes and apricots, but in the late 1950s, it transitioned to an equestrian center, offering horse boarding, lessons, and trail rides. In the early 2000s, the family began planting grapes on the property, with the first vines being planted in 2 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from nearby Paul Masson vineyards. Today, Cooper-Garrod Vineyards offers daily wine tastings of select 100% estate-grown, produced, and bottled wines. The winery's tasting room is open weekdays from 12:30pm-5pm and weekends from 11am-5pm, offering a unique opportunity to taste wine where the grapes are grown. Cooper-Garrod Estate Vineyards also offers a Wine Club with quarterly releases, discounts, and complimentary tastings for members.
