Copper Belt Winery

Copper Belt Winery, located in Baker City, Oregon, is situated within the Baker County Copper Belt region. The winery was established in 2010 by Travis Cook and his family, who have a long history of farming the land that now comprises their vineyards. The Cooks' great-grandfather, Walter Cook, homesteaded the area over 100 years ago, and the family's desire to work the land has been a driving force behind the winery's creation. Travis Cook, the winemaker, developed an interest in wine at a young age and pursued a degree in Viticulture and Enology from Oregon State University. The winery is known for its fruit-forward, approachable wines that reflect the handmade styles of traditional winemaking. Copper Belt Wines are estate-grown using grapes from their own vineyards, which are planted on some of the highest elevations in Oregon. The winery's tasting room, located in downtown Baker City, offers a welcoming space for visitors to embark on a journey through their wines and story. Their portfolio includes a range of varietals, including Pinot Noir, as well as sparkling wine made in a brut style without the champagne price tag.
