Cottonwood Cellars

Cottonwood Cellars is an old-world style Colorado family winery established in 1994 by Keith and Diana Read. The winery produces premium quality red and white wines under the Cottonwood Cellars and Olathe Winery labels, with a focus on oak barrel aging for their reds and Chardonnay. Red wines are aged in French and American oak barrels for one to two years, while off-dry whites are fermented in temperature-controlled tanks over several months to retain 2-3% residual sugar. The winery's vineyard, Cottonwood Vineyards, spans 22.5 acres and is located in Olathe, Colorado, within the state's wine country. Keith Read serves as the winemaker, while Diana handles marketing duties. Their wines include Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Lemberger, Chardonnay, Gewurztraminer, and off-dry whites. The tasting room is located in a building added to the property in 1998, which also houses barrel aging and case goods storage facilities.
