For over three decades, Crane Family Vineyards has been cultivating grapes and producing wine in Napa Valley's Mount Veeder appellation. The winery's hillside vineyard, the Don Raffaele Estate, benefits from a unique microclimate that imparts intense flavors to its grapes, reminiscent of those found in Bordeaux's Pomerol region. Founded by Peter Chiarella and his wife Frances Crane Chiarella in 1989, the estate was named after Peter's grandfather, an avid horticulturist who made wine many years ago. Their son Tom joined the family business in 2011, bringing a deep respect for the land and a passion for winemaking that has led to numerous awards and accolades. The winery is known for its estate-grown wines, with Alison Green Doran at the helm as one of Napa Valley's most experienced winemakers.
