Dana Estates

Dana Estates, situated on the western edge of Rutherford in Napa Valley's historic corner, has been crafting world-class wines since 1883. Founded by German immigrant H.W. Helms as a pre-Prohibition stone winery, the property remains anchored by its weathered remains, instilling a sense of timelessness. Today, under the ownership of South Korean businessman Hi Sang Lee, the estate produces four single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons and two labels, ONDA and VASO, defined by precision rather than power, with site expression taking precedence over formula. The wines are crafted by winemaker Maura Johnson from 48 acres of vineyards across Helms, Lotus, and Hershey Vineyards. Dana Estates is a member-only venue, open for professional tastings only, and offers virtual wine tastings for the general public. With its St. Helena setting, it serves as an anchor appointment for serious Napa wine enthusiasts, offering a unique experience that can be planned around essentials rather than assumptions about format, availability, or food service.
