Deaver Vineyards

Deaver Vineyards, a 41-year-old winery located in Amador County's Shenandoah Valley, has permanently closed its operations. The winery was founded by the Deaver family, who settled in the area in the mid-19th century and established themselves as pioneers in grape cultivation and winemaking. The estate is home to 300 acres of vineyards, including 140-year-old Zinfandel vines and eight acres of Mission vines, which were planted by Ken Deaver's great-grandfather John Davis in 1854. Deaver Vineyards gained recognition for its velvety Zinfandels, as well as its classic Sangiovese, Barbera, and rich Ports, produced under the Tuscan-style climate of Amador County. The winery's history is deeply rooted in the region, with multiple generations of the Deaver family contributing to its success. Unfortunately, due to the closure, visitors can no longer experience the estate's tasting room or vineyard tours, which offered a glimpse into the family's rich heritage and dedication to sustainable farming practices.
