Devitt Winery

Devitt Winery is a family-owned and operated boutique winery located in the heart of the Applegate Valley, Oregon. Founded by Jim Devitt in 2003, the winery started as a vineyard in 2001 before transitioning into full wine production. The winemaking legacy began with Jim's experience at Pope Valley Winery in Napa County, where he earned numerous awards for his wines. His grandson Brendon now takes charge of winemaking, carrying on the family tradition since joining in 2006. Devitt Winery focuses on producing premium varietal wines, including Viognier, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah, as well as several blends, all made from estate or locally grown fruit. The winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, gentle handling, and patient aging to allow the wine's natural characteristics to shine through. With a focus on small-batch production, most bottles are two- to four-barrel lots aged extensively for optimal flavor development. Visitors can experience Devitt Winery's offerings at their tasting room, open year-round from noon to 5 pm (closed Wednesdays), located on Highway 238 between Jacksonville and Grants Pass, just a short drive from historic Jacksonville and world-renowned Ashland.
