Domaine de Pre Semele

Domaine de Pre Semele is a family-owned winery located in Maimbray, on the commune of Sury-en-Vaux, approximately 5 kilometers north of Sancerre. The estate represents the fourth generation of its family and spans 22 hectares of vineyards dedicated to organic viticulture since 2023. Their philosophy, "Vignerons sans étiquettes," translates to "winemakers without labels," reflecting their commitment to adapting to their own ideas rather than conforming to established norms. Inspired by biodynamic, natural, and organic practices, they create their alchemy by applying only what they believe is best for the vine and wine. Their wines are vinified and aged naturally, without oenological products, to express the richness of their calcareous and argilo-calcareous terroirs. They produce their own volcanic sulfur and use nitrogen to minimize its usage, resulting in fruitier and more open wines. The winemaking process avoids filtration or fining, preserving the integrity of each cuvée. The estate's wines are characterized by a unique balance of finesse, vivacity from calcareous soils, and structure and roundness from argilo-calcareous soils. Visitors can experience their wines by appointment only, as they welcome guests to the domaine during its operating hours.
