Ecluse Wines

Ecluse Wines is a family-owned boutique winery located in the Westside Paso Robles AVA, just five minutes west of downtown Paso Robles. The winery specializes in producing limited-production, handcrafted wines that showcase their estate-grown fruit, with a focus on Bordeaux and Rhone style blends as well as a highly allocated Zinfandel. Proprietor Steve Lock's minimalist approach to winemaking has yielded award-winning results, including a San Francisco Chronicle Sweepstakes winning Best Red Wine. The winery's signature varietals include Écluse Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon, which were first released in 2003 after years of experimentation with small production runs. Ecluse Wines is known for its old-fashioned approach to wine tasting, offering barrel samples in the on-site barrel room where visitors can experience the winemaking process firsthand. The winery's location and terroir are characterized by gently rolling hillside terrain, allowing for a unique expression of Paso Robles' renowned terroir.
