Fancy Farm Vineyard and Winery

Fancy Farm Vineyard and Winery sits in the small Western Kentucky town of Fancy Farm. Owner Tom Curtsinger, a fourth-generation landowner from a family of diversified farmers, started the vineyard after a visit to a Southern Illinois winery sparked his curiosity about grapes. Experts told him European vinifera varieties could not grow in Kentucky, but he planted one acre, then expanded steadily, and now farms six acres of seven European grape varieties. The winery produces dry reds including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec, dry whites such as Pinot Grigio and Riesling, and a range of sweet and fruit wines. Styx is a hot wine with oak and cherry notes. The Cabernet Sauvignon is grown, fermented, and aged on the farm. Tom runs the business with his four sons and manager Robbie Felker, and the tasting room offers wines, gift baskets, and branded merchandise.
