Garrod Farms

Garrod Farms is a family-owned estate winery and stables located in the Saratoga foothills of California's Santa Clara Valley, just minutes from Silicon Valley. The winery has its roots dating back to 1893 when the Garrod family began farming the property, initially producing dried prunes and apricots. In the late 1950s, the family transitioned from an orchard operation to a stables, offering horseback riding lessons, trail rides, and boarding for privately owned horses. The winery's wine production is a relatively recent development, with the first grapes planted in the 1960s - two acres of Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from nearby Paul Masson vineyards. Today, Garrod Farms produces select 100% estate-grown, produced, and bottled wines under the Cooper-Garrod Vineyards label, available for daily wine tastings at the winery. The tasting room offers a unique opportunity to sample wines where the grapes are grown, with a focus on showcasing the terroir of their Santa Clara Valley vineyards. Visitors can also enjoy horseback riding lessons and trail rides through the property's over 20 miles of trails, making Garrod Farms a one-of-a-kind destination for wine enthusiasts and equestrians alike.
