Grafted Cellars Winery

Grafted Cellars Winery is a family-owned urban winery, tasting room, and full-service restaurant in Claremont Village, near the Claremont Colleges. Husband-and-wife team Whitney and Ryan run the winery together: Whitney brought front- and back-of-house winery experience from New York's Finger Lakes region, while Ryan came from running Ogopogo Brewing in San Gabriel and helping establish a previous wine brand. The winery sources grapes from Vista to Napa Valley to Oregon's Willamette Valley, with a priority on varietals from the South Coast AVA to showcase local terroir. Fruit is processed and aged in the in-house cellar behind the tasting room. The winemaking approach emphasizes small-batch production and minimal intervention across more than 20 varietals, drawing on both new- and old-world styles. The tasting room is spacious, family and pet-friendly, with plenty of seating and room for activities or events. The name references the 19th-century practice of grafting European vines onto American rootstocks, which the winery describes as a triumph of innovation and adaptation.
