Greenwood Ridge Vineyards

Greenwood Ridge Vineyards is a small, family-owned producer in Philo, in Mendocino County's Anderson Valley wine country. Founded in 1980 by Allan Green, it is now one of the oldest wineries in the Philo area and was purchased in 2016 by Ken and Diane Wilson; winemaker Victoria Wilson now heads the winemaking for all Greenwood Ridge wines. The winery specializes in late-harvest Riesling and Pinot Noir, producing fewer than 1,500 cases a year of small-lot wines that highlight Anderson Valley and Mendocino fruit. It has been named one of America's top 30 wineries three times in recent years by Wine & Spirits Magazine. Tasting takes place in a distinctive octagonal tasting room designed by Aaron G. Green, father of founder Allan Green and a longtime associate and architect for Frank Lloyd Wright. The room was built entirely from a single 400-year-old redwood tree that fell in a 1969 storm. Since 2006 the property has run on solar power, and complimentary electric-vehicle chargers are available for customers.
