Here’s The Thing Vineyards

Here's The Thing Vineyards is a small, family-owned winery located in Oliver, BC, on the traditional and unceded territory of the Sylix Okanagan People. Founded by Jamie and Leah McDowell in 2016, the winery operates with a hands-on approach, where every bottle sold to guests is made on-site. The couple's past careers - Jamie as a distribution and logistics manager and Leah as a VQA store owner - have provided them with valuable experience in wine production, sales, and customer interaction. Their goal was to create a small, boutique winery that produces high-quality wines using estate-grown grapes, while also offering an intimate tasting experience for visitors. The vineyard is situated on 10 acres of land, which Jamie has been working to improve and optimize since their arrival. Leah's extensive knowledge of BC wines and her interactions with wine drinkers have helped shape the winery's style and offerings. Visitors can taste a range of red, white, and rosé wines at the winery, which is open daily from 11am-5pm. The McDowells' commitment to quality, hard work, and attention to detail is evident in every aspect of their operation, from vineyard management to wine production and customer service.
