J. Rochioli Winery & Vineyards

J. Rickards Winery & Vineyards is a family-run operation located at the northern end of the Alexander Valley in Sonoma County, California. Founded by Jim and Eliza Rickards, the winery has been producing hand-crafted wines since 1991, with the official start of production in 2005. The vineyard has been planted over four decades, augmenting the original 1908 Zinfandel vines. J. Rickards is known for its Old Vine Zinfandel and other estate-grown varietals such as Petite Sirah, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Their wines are often sold to renowned wineries in the area, with some grapes going to Silver Oak's Alexander Valley label and Passalacqua Winery. The tasting room, located in a rustic barn built in 1997, offers wine pickups and tastings from 11am-4pm Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome based on availability. The winery also offers tours of the Old Vine Zinfandel vineyard. With a focus on estate-grown wines and a passion for farming, J. Rickards embodies a down-to-earth approach to winemaking.
