Jacob's Cellar

Jacob's Cellar is a boutique family winery rooted in faith, heritage, and craftsmanship, situated atop St. Mary's Mountain in Altus, Arkansas. The winery has a legacy spanning over a century, dating back to 1880 when Jacob founded what would become Arkansas' first commercial winery. After a hiatus, the family's winemaking tradition was revived in 2020 by Mathew R. Post, a direct descendant of Jacob, who obtained a federal winery permit and began crafting limited-release wines using estate-grown and sourced grapes from across the nation. The winery's inaugural wines feature carefully selected grapes including Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley, Primitivo from Lodi, Chambourcin from Arkansas, Cynthiana from Altus, Petit Syrah & Petit Verdot from Paso Robles, California. Jacob's Cellar is known for its trilogy blends, such as the G7 Heritage and Magna Cum Laude, which showcase a balance of varietals including Primitivo/Zinfandel, Chambourcin, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot. The winery offers private tastings and tours by reservation only, allowing visitors to experience the family's dedication to craftsmanship and tradition.
