Jl Kiff

J.L. Kiff Vineyard is a family-owned and operated winery located in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA of Oregon's Willamette Valley. The winery was founded by Joel and Laurie Kiff, who met while studying at UC Davis in the 1980s. After purchasing their property just outside McMinnville in 2003, they began planting their vineyard in 2005, initially growing grapes for sale to other producers before making their first wine in 2010. Today, J.L. Kiff produces around 1,000 cases of small-lot Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rosé of Pinot Noir each year. The winery's tasting room is situated on the property, offering sweeping views of the 10-acre vineyard, which was hand-planted by Joel in 2005. Visitors can meet the Kiffs themselves, who are involved in every aspect of the winemaking process, from grape growing to bottling. The family has a strong commitment to sustainability and estate-grown wines, with their property featuring south-facing slopes at an elevation of 450-650 feet. With a focus on hands-on, small-lot production, J.L. Kiff's wines are a reflection of the family's passion for winemaking and their connection to the land.
