Founded in 1968 by Joe Swan, the winery still embodies his passion and curiosity for winemaking. Today, under the guidance of owner and winemaker Rod Berglund, who has been with the winery since its early days, Joseph Swan continues to produce a range of wines that showcase their terroir-driven style. The winery's portfolio includes old vine zinfandel, estate chardonnay, and pinot noir, as well as other wines sourced from talented local winegrowers. Each wine is crafted with balance and personality, reflecting the unique characteristics of its vintage and terroir. After graduating from high school, Berglund entered college, but the draft forced him to take a break from formal education. He eventually found his way back to wine, joining Joseph Swan in 1969. With over 28 harvests under his belt, Berglund's winemaking philosophy is centered around embracing the journey and allowing each vintage to express its unique personality.
