La Cantina Winery

La Cantina Winery traces its family winemaking roots to Santa Maria del Molise, Italy, where the tradition began in the mid-1900s. In 1963, Ottavio brought that practice to Franklin, Massachusetts, and later generations continued it as a basement operation for more than a decade before expanding into a full production facility. The winemaking combines old-world family methods with formal training from UC Davis, using grapes sourced from Suisun Valley, California. The lineup includes Italian Heritage Series wines such as Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Barbera, Teroldego, Primitivo, Super Tuscan, Montepulciano, and Nero d'Avola, alongside Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and several blends. The winery is located in Franklin, Massachusetts, and operates as both a working winery and a social gathering place. The tasting room offers first-come, first-served flights of any five wines, and the scratch kitchen, led by Executive Chef Christopher Lindskog, prepares dishes such as Neapolitan pizza and tapas in a stone hearth oven. The space is designed to feel relaxed and communal, with live music and an event room available.
