Larkmead Vineyards

Larkmead Vineyards is one of the oldest family-owned establishments in Napa Valley, with a history dating back to its founding in 1895. The 115-acre estate, situated in Calistoga, has been under vine since the mid-1800s and has played an active role in shaping Napa Valley's reputation as a premier wine region. Under the stewardship of the Solari-Baker family since 1948, Larkmead has undergone significant transformations, including a complete replanting of the property from 1992 to 2002, tailored to suit the unique characteristics of each block. The estate is now farmed organically by vineyard manager Nabor Camerena and viticulturist Kelly Maher, with winemaker Avery Heelan capturing the nuance and complexity of the site through small-lot vinifications based on clonal selection and soil type. Larkmead's legendary vineyard features a remarkable diversity of soils, resulting from centuries of alluvial flow that have accumulated ancient riverbed gravel, clay, and loam. The Solari-Baker family continues to fine-tune their viticultural and cellar techniques, with Kate Solari Baker, Proprietor & President, committed to passing on the legacy of her parents and grandparents to their three children.
