Liberty Lake Wine Cellars

Liberty Lake Wine Cellars is a boutique winery off the Liberty Lake exit on I-90, in the heart of Liberty Lake, Washington. It produces big, bold reds from the Red Mountain AVA, Washington's smallest and warmest growing region, where wines are known for intense berry flavors and balance. All production happens on-site, from crush and fermentation through barrel aging, bottling, and storage. The tasting room first opened in 2007 with the 2005 vintage made by original owners Doug and Shelly Smith. Mark and Sarah, who met in the MBA program at Eastern Washington University and had been wine club members since 2011, took over in January 2016. They kept the focus on Red Mountain reds while adding a second label, Tahija, for whites, rosés, and other reds sourced from additional Washington AVAs. In September 2017 the winery relocated from its original lakeside home to a newly built facility with a larger tasting room, production space, and barrel storage.
