Lichen Estate is a 203-acre farm located in the heart of Anderson Valley, California, which was previously a sheep ranch for 150 years. The winery's name pays homage to the widespread presence of lichen on their property and throughout the surrounding region. Founded by the same individuals who previously established Breggo Cellars, Lichen Estate focuses on estate-grown sparkling and still wines made from Pinot Noir, White Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris grapes. Their winemaking philosophy emphasizes gentle equipment use and minimalist techniques to express the unique character of their vineyard. The estate's vineyard is farmed organically and with meticulous attention to detail, with a focus on biological diversity and sustainability. Visitors can experience Lichen Estate through daily tastings from 11-3:30 PM or by staying in one of their on-site accommodations, including a Craftsman Cottage or an Airstream above the vineyard.
