Lillian

Lillian is the California-focused label of winemaker Maggie, known for working with roussanne, syrah, grenache and cabernet sauvignon in sun-drenched sites and giving the wines levity, transparency and fine detail. The syrah and grenache draw from Santa Barbara County vineyards such as Bien Nacido and White Hawk; the roussanne is sorted with precision, cluster by cluster and then berry by berry, by color, then given variable skin contact and press times, barrel fermentation, full malolactic and a year sur lie before blending. A former cabernet sauvignon came from True Vineyard high on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley and was produced from 2010 through 2016. Tastings are by appointment at the shared Dundee, Oregon winery and tasting room with Antica Terra, where guests sample both labels alongside selections from the private cellar, and custom virtual tastings can also be arranged.
