Linden Vineyards

Linden Vineyards is one of Virginia's premier wineries, situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains 60 miles west of Washington DC. The winery produces 4,000 cases annually from three distinct vineyard sites: Hardscrabble Vineyard, Avenius Vineyard, and Boisseau Vineyard. Linden is known for its single-vineyard bottlings of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Bordeaux variety red blends. The winery's philosophy is rooted in a farm-to-table approach, with owner Jim Law emphasizing the importance of terroir-driven wines. Linden's history dates back to 1983 when Law and his family purchased 76 acres that were once an abandoned apple orchard. The first vines were planted in 1985, using budwood from local vineyards, and the winery building was completed in time for the harvest of 1987. Visitors can experience guided tastings on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays between 11am-5pm, with reservations recommended through Tock. The Winegrower's Selection is a subscription service offering six-bottle shipments twice a year of small-lot bottlings, unusual wines, and vintages of which the winery is particularly proud.
