Lovingston Winery

Lovingston Winery, located in the rolling countryside of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, is a small batch, 100% estate grown vineyard and winery that opened in 2003. Originally built as a family residence in 1906, the property was transformed into a vineyard with the first planting of five acres of Bordeaux varietals, including Merlot and Cabernet Franc, which are staples in Virginia wine. The winery has since expanded to include Petit Verdot, Chambourcin, Pinotage, as well as three white varietals: Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, and Petit Manseng. Lovingston Winery's philosophy emphasizes the importance of cultivation and care in the vineyard above all else, resulting in great wines. Visitors are welcome to explore the winery, which offers flights, wine by the glass and bottles at its tasting room, as well as a relaxed atmosphere with children, leashed dogs, and outside food permitted. The winery is closed on Fridays during certain periods of the year, but offers special events such as live music performances and wine club pick-up weekends. In 2024, Lovingston Winery released new wines, including a Seyval Blanc and Rotunda Red, and has introduced a re-branded family of labels featuring artist Laura Aldridge's panoramic mountain landscapes.
