Lulu Island Winery

Lulu Island Winery sits on Westminster Highway in Richmond, British Columbia, where John and Allison Chang planted the city's first vineyard in 2006 and opened the winery over Canada Day weekend in 2009. The Changs moved from Taiwan in 1998 and began making fruit wines and Icewines before expanding into a full range of red and white table wines, fruit wines, and Icewines, all produced on site and carrying the VQA stamp. The winery farms vineyards in multiple locations, growing Pinot Noir and Muscat in Richmond's cooler coastal Lower Mainland climate and drawing Icewine grapes from the warm days and cool nights of the Okanagan Valley. Its full-circle farming approach returns grape must and biodegradable materials to the vineyards to enrich the soil. Winemaking combines traditional methods with modern technology and equipment.
