McConnell Estates Winery, located in Elk Grove, California, has been family-owned and operated for six generations. The Wackman Family, who own and operate Wackman Ranch, have farmed the land just north of the Cosumnes River since 1993, initially planting grapes after recognizing the potential of the red clay soils to produce full-flavored wines. Today, they cultivate over 200 acres of estate vineyards, growing 15 distinct grape varieties within the Cosumnes River AVA and Lodi appellation. As a true farm-to-glass estate, every step of their winemaking process occurs on-site, from vineyard to glass. The winery's focus is on honoring each varietal's unique character, crafting wines that express both the terroir and the family's heritage. Their portfolio includes over 20+ estate-grown wines, with notable awards won by Winemaker Mike Wackman, including a Gold Medal at the CA State Fair for his first commercial vintage in 2003. Visitors can enjoy wine tastings in their historic, hundred-year-old homestead Tasting Room and participate in one of their many events throughout the year.
