McHenry Vineyard

McHenry Vineyard is a small, family-run estate vineyard and winery in Bonny Doon, California, specializing in producing small-batch, hand-crafted Pinot noir wines in the Burgundian style. The winery sits at an elevation of 1,800 feet above the Pacific Ocean within the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, just north of Santa Cruz. McHenry Vineyard has been making wine for over 40 years, with the first vineyards planted in 1970 and the commercial winery established in 1980. Unfortunately, the winery's facility was destroyed in the CZU Lightning Complex Fire in August 2020, but the vines remain intact and are being tended to while a new facility is rebuilt. In the meantime, McHenry Vineyard continues to produce wines in collaboration with Ryan Beauregard at Beauregard Vineyards. The tasting experience is not currently available as the winery is closed to the public, but wine can be ordered directly through email or phone. The vineyard's location on a sandy slope surrounded by redwood forest contributes to its unique terroir and Pinot noir production style.
