Medaloni Cellars

Medaloni Cellars is a 22-acre estate in the Yadkin Valley AVA, set on a hilltop outside Lewisville and about ten minutes from Winston-Salem. Owner and winemaker Joey Medaloni, a former Greensboro nightlife entrepreneur, bought the wooded property in 2008, cleared the land, planted vines, and opened a log-style tasting room after studying winemaking under local experts and applying traditional French techniques with a minimal-intervention approach. The winery produces white wines such as Traminette, Valvin Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng, Riesling, Kerner, Vermentino, Chardonnay, and Viognier, alongside reds including Merlot, Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Sangiovese, Carignan, Zinfandel, and the MJ Red Blend. The lineup also includes a Muscadine Noble, rosé, sparkling red, and Sweetheart Red. Visitors can choose from guided tastings at the bar, self-guided flights to enjoy anywhere on the grounds, or reserved seated experiences for couples with cheese or charcuterie. Private barrel-room tastings for groups of four to eight include wine drawn from aging tanks or barrels. The property also hosts weddings and private events and offers rustic rental cabins, including Chateau Bergeron near the tasting room and a secluded treehouse past the vineyards.
