In 1972, Don and Linda Mercer planted the first Cabernet Sauvignon wine grapes in the Horse Heaven Hills under the guidance of Dr. Walter Clore, a pioneer in Washington State's viticulture industry. Today, Mercer Wine Estates produces mouth-watering Cabernet Sauvignons, world-class red blends, and single varietal wines that showcase the region's unique terroir. The winery's state-of-the-art facility in Prosser provides temperature control and immaculate conditions for fermentation, allowing the winemaking team to craft wines with elegant tannin structures and enticing flavor profiles. Visitors can experience Mercer Wine Estates at one of two tasting rooms in Prosser or Walla Walla, where they can sample a range of wines and join the Classic Carma Club, VIP Carma Club, or Allocated Club for exclusive access to small-production releases.
